Much like writer's block, artists have a similar concept. It's often based on either the inability to think of new ideas on the bat or a slow burning idea is cooking up and you need to find the right pieces to break said block. Could be half cooked ideas or something that didn't seem right or a perfect idea with just one piece missing.
